Anson Cheung

Founder · AI Systems & Harness Engineer · Hampshire, UK

I’m a technical generalist building AI systems and operating managed hosting. I work across product, interfaces, backend systems and infrastructure, using AI throughout research, implementation, testing and delivery. My strength is deciding what to build, judging trade-offs and taking an idea through to a working product.

Open to founder or founding engineer roles, early-stage startup opportunities, and paid product engineering projects.

Founder · AI Systems & Harness Engineer

Mar 2026 - Present

Building domain-specific AI systems that turn user goals into executable, inspectable workflows.

Develop agent harnesses with model integration, tool access, context management, scheduling, durable execution, failure recovery and human review. Expose shared capabilities through dashboards, APIs, CLI and MCP.

Apply these systems to recruitment research, career matching and evidence-based interview review, while exploring marketing workflows and advertising marketplace experiences.

Also build and operate a managed private-community hosting business, covering automated infrastructure provisioning, tenant isolation, subscription billing and customer onboarding.

Own the work from product discovery and architecture through implementation, deployment and verification, using AI throughout and applying engineering judgment to the results.

What I can help build

  • Technical judgment: architecture, trade-offs and reviewing AI-generated work
  • AI-driven delivery: research, implementation, testing and deployment
  • Product thinking: turning unclear requirements into usable software
  • Systems engineering: connecting interfaces, APIs, data and infrastructure
  • Developer experience: authentication, SDKs and agent integrations
  • Adaptability: choosing and learning tools around the problem

Lit Protocol

Founding team member · Lead Software Engineer
Dec 2021 - Feb 2026

Joined Lit Protocol as team member #5, including the CEO and CTO, and helped build its developer platform across SDKs, authentication, applications and infrastructure. Worked remotely for the San Francisco startup, leading the SDK team.

Familiar sign-in for programmable wallets

Applications needed to connect user authentication to programmable wallet keys and permissions.

My contribution: Built SDK flows for Google, Discord and WebAuthn/passkeys, including key creation, session handling and requested permission scopes.

What changed: Developers gained reusable sign-in flows with control over the login experience and the permissions they requested.

A shorter path from idea to running code

Developers needed a repeatable way to work with Lit Actions, JavaScript programs run on Lit’s network.

My contribution: Built CLI and scaffolding workflows for creating, building, testing and deploying Lit Actions.

What changed: Common development steps became reusable tooling and examples.

APIs that supported new network generations

Network and key-management changes needed usable SDK interfaces.

My contribution: Added network integrations and session-permission tooling, with integration tests. Took over maintenance of the existing wrapped-key infrastructure after a handover.

What changed: Developers could access evolving network capabilities through the SDK.

Visibility into how the system behaved

Execution failures and network health needed to be inspectable.

My contribution: Built metrics services and dashboards for execution logs, network health and rolling success rates.

What changed: Operational behaviour became visible through dedicated services and dashboards.

Explicit control over agent access

Agent applications needed scoped wallet access and repeatable permission tests.

My contribution: Added programmable-wallet integration and contributed to Vincent’s smart-account permissions and test setup.

What changed: Applications gained explicit permission controls and more repeatable integration testing.

The core repository is now private. The Lit case study explains the evidence and includes reference contacts.

Independent products

Hermesaki

Self-hosted email and agent access required several configuration steps.

Built a dashboard, scoped inbox access and an agent setup flow using MCP.

What changed: Verified teardown, installation and a real email round trip, and published the measured setup journey.

Monologos - multimodal knowledge engine

Saved documents, recordings and online videos were difficult to search together or trace back to the relevant moment.

Built the ingestion, AI processing and retrieval engine behind private web and iPhone clients. Combined Whisper transcription, OCR, text embeddings and visual models with RAG (retrieval-augmented generation). Integrated cookie sync for signed-in YouTube, X and TikTok downloads, including the Bukkumaku processing workflow.

What changed: Mixed media became searchable evidence for answers, with results opening the matching source or video timestamp.
